I'm not sure what you have misunderstood here. Yes, I see what you mean. But it does seem that the book spreads the information over several files (named.hosts, named.local, etc). Whereas the webpage places this information all within mydomain.db. I can see the reasons for doing it, but I found it quite confusing initial. I'll have to read more of Chapter 8.
