because the 25xx/26xx series routers are pretty weak.

I'd suggest *gasp* buying the 72xx now and just stop fooling around.

This may be difficult to someone wearing a suit/tie, but you can actually
save money by having a little foresight and not buying equipment you
know will be obsolete in half a year[1].
