I am not a Perl expert, never needed to be, but I do have a patch
submitted.  At least I think I submitted one.  That bring PORTREVESION
and PORTEPOCH into checking.  I can't do it by myself yet, not good
enough at perl to accept full responisbility, but will work with
someone.

Maybe, for startes do some work and have it reviewed by the current
MAINTAINERS.
