The Linux community uses add slicks and authorized re-sellers and
wholsalers tp promate their product.  Take a look at www.caldera.com or
www.suse.com

There are also numerous links to software that runs on Linux which make
the numbers of user look large and indeed they have a large user base.  

It would be interesting to see some estimate of the FreeBSD user base
with some seperation of usage on servers vs desktops.  This could be a
ket ingredient in getting more commercial userland stuff ported to
FreeBSD.
