I mean that the Linux kernel supports some method of rebooting that is activated by giving it "reboot=bios" on its command line. The intent was to provide useful information to any kernel developers who might have the skills necessary to port that code. As I mentioned, a colleague of mine tried and failed, so I don't think it's a trivial undertaking. Unless you are an experienced developer, you're not likely to do it yourself. My suggestion is to get a cheap Pentium motherboard; they generally suck less.
