Um, oops.  You're right - a make deinstall digs for the PKGNAME found in
the port Makefile and tries to pkg_delete that.  Other than that it
appears to do pretty much exactly what a pkg_delete does.  

Sorry about that - I even looked at bsd.port.mk when I typed the first
message...
