I know you commited it.  Actually, I wrote it.  I wasn't suggesting that
you should have read UPDATING.  That would have been rather silly.  I
was really just saying that while the message in UPDATING will help,
adding these #errors is a very good idea because just knowing about the
problem isn't quite sufficient to avoid it.  As both of use seem to have
proved. ;-)
