Hello! Which of the two constructs in the subject is better -- more portable, more reliable, more correct (for some definitions of the adjectives listed)? AFAIK, when linking an executable, it is LD=${CXX} (hence the recent PROG_CXX introduction). But what about linking together a shared C++ library which is supposed to be used in C executables (the relationship between graphics/libfpx and graphics/ImageMagick)? Is it time for LIB_CXX define?
