Indeed, the diffs can be merged with the NOTE file that addresses Alpha.

Do you really want to test all the chips of the list under all existing
Alpha variants ? :)
They should work, given proper PCI BUS interfaces (bridge + kernel
interfaces), in my opinion. Pamela Delaney tested at LSI the 53C896 and
53C1010 under Linux/Alpha on some Alpha machine and they worked well. I
donnot see why they shouldn't work as well with `sym' under FreeBSD/Alpha
(The recent SYM53C895A problem was a consequence of a kernel BUS interface
difference regarding BAR resources identification).

Why duplicating such information in a per platform basis ? (the driver is
documented in sym(4))

The supported hardware list is also maintained in the release notes, that,
btw, are not up-to-date for Symbios devices (53C876, 53C895A, 53C897,
53C1010 are missing). So seems a bit obsolete (even more), what user can
read about support for Symbios devices on FreeBSD-4.X CD/Rom boxes.

  Gerard.
