I grabbed this pattern from biology/ugene/Makefile. If it is broken here, it is broken on both. I have a number of other commits I am trying to catch up with before I can get back to looking at this one. I will say that anyone who is attempting to do science work on anything other than amd64 has their work cut out for them. mcl
