I found that changing

	   device          ppc0    at isa? port? net irq 7

to

	   device          ppc0    at isa? port? net

did the trick for me, i.e. make PPC do polling (I guess).  I just read
the ppc(4) man page (after the fact), and maybe doing something like

	   device          ppc0    at isa? port? net irq 7 flags 0x20

might also do the trick.  The ppc(4) man page is completely unhelpful
w.r.t. forcing parallel ports into polling mode.
