Ok, but does "build with xxx" mean "build with installed package xxx" or
"build with WITH_MOZILLA=xxx in order to use the xxx port in the build"?

I understand that and as I said in my original report, I was building
galeon with WITH_MOZILLA=mozilla-devel because I want galeon 1.2.7 and
mozilla 1.3a.

I appreciate your continued help, but so far I'm no wiser. The outstanding
questions boil down to: do I need to remove the mozilla package which I
installed via the mozilla-devel-gtk2 port and install a new one from the
mozilla-devel port, or if not then what am I doing wrong?
