Here's yet another question about subnetting that the aforementioned web page doesn't cover. This is the situation (fairly typical): there's one gateway for the entire class C address. I assume that machine uses the standard class C (255.255.255.0) netmask on its gateway link to the internet (ISDN). Now, any other systems within that class C network - specifically those which are gateways for subnets, use their subnet mask. Routing for the subnet on the gateway machine is done via the (base) network address for the subnet with the "-netmask <subnetmask>". Have I got that right? Thanks in advance.
