Thanks, but that doesn't seem to do it.

I changed the "ifconfig_wlan0" line in /etc/rc.conf from:
ifconfig_wlan0=3D"WPA DHCP"

to:
ifconfig_wlan0=3D"WPA DHCP -ht"

wlan now shows up as:
