Hi Lanny,
It's a SuperMicro server with a 3ware 8006/2LP RAID card.

We've not yet properly tried Kostiks patch as we've only updated to FreeBSD
6.1 but its been up for at least 3 days now.

Although I don't know what kind of Server you have or who makes it, 
perhaps you might want to replace the raid controller.
