Subject: Makeworld on slow machine

I'm tracking RELENG_4 on a Pentium-100 server which is working fine
but make [build|install] world takes a really long time.

I also have a faster machine I track RELENG_4 on, and I heard about
the "make release" option, but it's reputedly wrought with peril and
only for someone that really knows what they're doing. (probably not
me :-)

So then I thought - what if I just burn a CD with /usr/src and/or
/usr/obj on it - can I makeworld with that on the slow machine? (I
can't just NFS mount the drive because these machines are
geographically separated)

So specifically:

A) Do I need both /usr/src and /usr/obj? It seems the size of both
those combined on my 4.3-STABLE machines are currently perilously
close to the capacity of a single CD. Do I need any files other than
those?

B) What do I need to do to ensure that there is nothing specific to
machine A when I copy source files to machine B -- ie are the object
files changed by the kernel configuration file when you make
buildkernel?

Thanks,

Phil
