The fibre optic is connected to a hub which is connected to the novell file server. I want workstations which log on to the novell server to communicate with the freebsd box in another building. > > When I ping the freebsd box from a workstation in another building, configured with IP address, it " requests time out". > Can anyone provide assistance It seems that you have two interfaces in your fileserver, is that right? If so, you need to turn on IP-routing on the fileserver, if it can handle that. I don't know the Novell fileserver, so I cant provide any help for that. -- /Bengan To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-net" in the body of the message
