I would suggest that you MFC the trace@ncurses after taking the
previous discussion into account, that means you wait for the official
version of the diff to appear.  That will take some time and this
patch is needed until then.

It makes the port work on 4.0 release, so I see some value here.  The
bash2 trace() function isn't called anywhere, BTW.
