What kind of X server are you using in what color depth? If it's the
VGA 16 one, you may well be out of colors.

Unless I've made yet another mistake, fvwm should look up everything
under /usr/X11R6/lib. Personally, I keep a symbolic link from
/usr/X11R6/lib to /usr/lib/X11 for backwards compatibility tho.
