It would be nice if ALL S/W products could accept newer pre-/co-requisite S/W, but that simply isn't the case. Perl and tcl/tk are famous for this, but this also happens with PORTS accepting one and only one version of a given piece of S/W. The multiple versions of librep may have been entirely my fault, however.
