One more question: I can't find anything in /usr/ports/Mk that sets
PACKAGE_BUILDING. Can I safely assume that it is only set for testing
ports? Or are there situations when it is set and real packages are
produced?

Another question: in the build process, will PACKAGE_BUILDING still be
set when the package is deleted?

I could remove the state and the VERSION file if PACKAGE_BUILDING is
set.

Thanks,

PS: This feels a little like Groundhog Day. I'm getting reruns, but I'm
learning a little in each circle, hoping to eventually break out ;-)
Next round I'll hijack the groundhog and run.
