Uhh - don't know. I'm not at home these days, I will check it a.s.a.p.

But I think I'm using the original shell (/bin/csh), because of the high
compile-time for new ones...

Let me think - if the command dumps core and the shell is back after this,

the external command must be the one is used -- so I mean
which which
/usr/bin/which
illegal instruction: core dumped
