The following reply was made to PR i386/37225; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Adam Jenkins <jenky@suburbia.net> To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org Cc: dcs@freebsd.org Subject: Re: i386/37225: boot loader problem Date: Wed, 17 Jul 2002 09:20:36 +1000 (EST) Temporary fix: Unplugged the PS/2 (Acer of some sort) keyboard, and plugged in ye olde DIN-connector one using a DIN-to-PS2 adapter. The 4.6 CD booted fine, I got as far as the kernel configuration/resolve conflict screen which I hadn't before, and then on to the sysinstall menu and installed FreeBSD. Permanent fix: A kernel with this change to it (flag 0x2 not 0x1) device atkbd0 at atkbdc? irq 1 flags 0x2 lets me boot using the PS/2 keyboard (Otherwise the machine boots up as usual but I can't use the keyboard). I presume a boot image with that flag set (or set interactively?) would load okay also. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
