Temporary fix: Unplugged the PS/2 (Acer of some sort) keyboard, and
plugged in ye olde DIN-connector one using a DIN-to-PS2 adapter. The 4.6
CD booted fine, I got as far as the kernel configuration/resolve conflict
screen which I hadn't before, and then on to the sysinstall menu and
 installed FreeBSD.

Permanent fix: A kernel with this change to it (flag 0x2 not 0x1)
device atkbd0 at atkbdc? irq 1 flags 0x2
lets me boot using the PS/2 keyboard (Otherwise the machine boots up as
usual but I can't use the keyboard). I presume a boot image with that
flag set (or set interactively?) would load okay also.
