That would destroy consistency amongst the octave-forge-* ports (and
create a lot of extra work for me).

I must admit that this one is new to me (but I also haven't been
following things for a while).  Why is this required?  I looked through
bsd.ports.mk, and I couldn't figure out what its purpose was.  Google
didn't help either.
