Please use HTML entities for non-ASCII characters (for Author names) so they can be displayed correctly. You don't have to make a real patch for the publish.sgml file, as long as the exact text that should be inserted is there it's quite fast for the website maintainers to throw HTML around it. BTW. sending a PR is good idea for something like this since it reduces the risk of the update being lost. > Omer Faruk Sen writes:=20 >=20 > >Hi. =20 > > > >I don't know who is resposible for http://www.freebsd.org/publish.html s= o=20 > >I am sending here. =20 > > > >We as EnderUNIX.ORG has written a book about FreeBSD in Turkish and I am= =20 > >requesting our book is to be listed in publish.html. The website is: http://kleeco.dyndns.biz:8080/~kuug I hope you will list as as well as maybe point me in the direction of obtaining some BSD cds as well as who to ask about getting a discount or even free. I can't authorize you to delete the WAFUG Wichita Area FreeBSD Users Group, but I used to attend it and it's dead. also the website no longer exists. I just know they got a ton of 3.2 4 CD sets from Walnut Creek, they claim for free they just mentioned they were a group. So if you could forward this to the right people as well as list the link, I would greatly appriciate it. :-) Patrick From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Mar 9 07:33:41 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 96F7A16A4CE for ; Tue, 9 Mar 2004 07:33:41 -0800 (PST) Received: from rwcrmhc11.comcast.net (rwcrmhc11.comcast.net [204.127.198.35]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 85A1543D45 for ; Tue, 9 Mar 2004 07:33:41 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from rodrigc@h00609772adf0.ne.client2.attbi.com) Received: from dibbler.crodrigues.org (h00609772adf0.ne.client2.attbi.com[66.31.45.197]) by comcast.net (rwcrmhc11) with ESMTP id <2004030915334001300d352le>; Tue, 9 Mar 2004 15:33:41 +0000 Received: from dibbler.crodrigues.org (localhost.crodrigues.org [127.0.0.1]) i29FXq6S011367 for ; Tue, 9 Mar 2004 10:33:52 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from rodrigc@h00609772adf0.ne.client2.attbi.com) Received: (from rodrigc@localhost) by dibbler.crodrigues.org (8.12.11/8.12.10/Submit) id i29FXqAC011366 for www@freebsd.org; Tue, 9 Mar 2004 10:33:52 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from rodrigc) Date: Tue, 9 Mar 2004 10:33:51 -0500 From: Craig Rodrigues To: www@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20040309153351.GA11195@crodrigues.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.1i Subject: Add link to FreeBSD Foundation on main web site X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 09 Mar 2004 15:33:41 -0000 Index: index.xsl =================================================================== RCS file: /home/ncvs/www/en/index.xsl,v retrieving revision 1.95 diff -u -r1.95 index.xsl --- index.xsl 15 Feb 2004 18:53:41 -0000 1.95 +++ index.xsl 9 Mar 2004 15:29:59 -0000 @@ -205,9 +205,9 @@ to FreeBSD article for more information.

Without having checked I'm rather sure the reason is that those pages are based on INDEX and that hasn't been updated since the addition of the new category. The proper solution is of course not to use INDEX from CVS but a freshly build one, but I don't have the time to implement that at the moment. --=20 Simon L. IMO, The proper solution is to leave it as is. Even using INDEX www/en/ports is most time and cpu consuming part (except *maybe* doc/) of www tree. We don't need to get www builder machine into yet another ports index tester. I didn't make myself clear enough. I don't want the WWW build to build ports/INDEX - I agree that would be a bad idea. The idea I have been thinking about was e.g. using the INDEX file already generated elsewhere (e.g. the INDEX tinderbox kris already runs) for the build on www. But it was just an idea, and I have no plans to work on that at the moment. Also I haven't looked more closely into the consequences of doing this (with regards to mirrors). --=20 Simon L. As a suggestion, the Ports Monitoring database already has its own internal representation of much of the metadata, with the exception of the dependencies. It has the advantage of being no more than one hour out of date -- it knows to incrementally update individual ports' metadata based on the output of a ports cvsup. Pieces of it could be recycled to do this kind of function, or it could create a report that could be grabbed. No doubt, this could also be done based off of FreshPorts' database, which probably has a nearly identical set of metadata. mcl From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Mar 11 16:07:07 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 96B9616A4CE; Thu, 11 Mar 2004 16:07:07 -0800 (PST) Received: from out007.verizon.net (out007pub.verizon.net [206.46.170.107]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3680243D39; Thu, 11 Mar 2004 16:07:07 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from george@sddi.net) Received: from defbox ([162.83.135.50]) by out007.verizon.net (InterMail vM.5.01.06.06 201-253-122-130-106-20030910) with ESMTP id <20040312000705.YZFC28276.out007.verizon.net@defbox>; Thu, 11 Mar 2004 18:07:05 -0600 From: "G. If you folks want the data exported from FreshPorts, which is usually always up to date, it should be pretty simple to create something you need (i.e. XML). The data is all there. It supports C99 and runs in Windows, Unix, Linux and Mac. We have many freebsd users asking us to port Ch to freebsd. We are in close to finishing porting Ch to freebsd. I wonder if it is possible to have ch bundled with freebsd? More about Ch can be found at http://www.softintegration.com Feel free to me know if you have any questions or suggestions. You may create a port or get interested someone who is familiar with FreeBSD ports system, submit it and once port will be in main ports tree - Ch will be bundled and distributed (if allowed) with main distribution. ps: look for porters-handbook on www.freebsd.org for more information about ports creation/maintaince. I've done porting, general development, testing, and more; the one constant I had to do --and I'm pretty sure this holds for all of us-- was cobbling together scripts. Looks like this interpreter can simplify/unify writing shell script. Come in seriously handy for the usual throw-away stuff. gary On Sat, Mar 13, 2004 at 03:10:45AM -0500, Xiaodong Zhou wrote: > > > > > On Fri, 12 Mar 2004 04:07:45 -0500 (EST) > > xzhou@softintegration.com (Xiaodong Zhou) wrote: > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > We have developed a free C/C++ interpreter called Ch. > > > > > > More about Ch can be found at > > > http://www.softintegration.com > > > > > > Feel free to me know if you have any questions or suggestions. > > > > I've used Ch on windows a log time ago and it's a nice product. > > > > If you need any help for making the port, please drop my an email. > > Thanks so much for your offer.
