That makes two of us!

n/a -- I think.  Doesn't look like rc.network has changed w.r.t. NIS
clients.

see below.

yup.

[root@urchin /etc]# tail -1 master.passwd
+:::::::::

[root@urchin /etc]# tail -1 group
+:*::

[root@urchin /etc]# id dsilver
uid=1000(dsilver) gid=1000(dsilver) groups=1000(dsilver), 0(wheel), 900(web)

[root@urchin /etc]# ypmatch dsilver passwd
dsilver:XXXXXXXXXXXXX:1000:1000:Hockey Nut, Penalty
Box:/home/dsilver:/bin/tcsh

[root@urchin /etc]# domainname
urchin

[root@urchin /etc]# ps aux|egrep yp
root      78  0.0  0.1   924  500  ??  Ss   Fri05PM   0:03.47 ypbind -s

This box is only an NIS client, so it should only need to run ypbind
(that's true on my other FBSD boxes).

<sigh>
