It was in the Attic and green half-brought it back. I tried to 
do the cvs update / cvs add thing after he brought it back and then
tried a force commit. It didn't like that either. Ironically, the file
could neither be cvs added or cvs rm'd; it was quite in limbo.

CVS does silly things at times, thanks for the help.
