Noyes Software >Environment: i386, Pentium II 400mhZ, 128 megs memory, asian clone motherboard with award bios intel chipsets. 2 Maxtor Ide Hard drives 40GB and 60GB, 1.44 floppy, 1 mitsumi ide cd-rom, Adaptec 78xx pci scsi card, connor tape drive, yamaha 16 x scsi cdrom reader/writer. NVidia GeoforceII MX400 64MB video card, Soundblaster PNP 16 sound card. Windows ME fat32 adn Linux on other partitions. >Description: I ftp downloaded the 5.2.1 iso images, and made a cd from them using easy cd creator. As per the instructions, I did fdimage kern.flp a: and fdimage mfsroot.flp a: on formatted disks. I put the kern disk in the machine and rebooted it loaded ok. It asked for the second disk and it started loading, then I saw the following page fault synching disks 220 220 220 220 220 220... then giving up on 84 buffers, then it said 5 seconds to reboot. On 2 partitions I have Free BSD 4.0 which boots fine on this machine. I would like to upgrade. I tried the prior release and had the same bug. >How-To-Repeat: reboot from floppies. >Fix: none >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
