I never (or I hope I never) suggested using it out of /usr/src.

I picked up on the thread (Uh, oh...) when it looked like ports were
breaking because of the non-existance of /usr/local/lib/perl5, and that
is why I suggested that adding _that_ dir to BSD.local.dist for ports
purposes may be good. I just didn't say it as well or clearly :-(
