the buildout and support of our ISP (mostly hosting) infrastructure.  Must

Function: 	10% Travel/ 70% Administration / 20% Interaction with
Customers Internal-External


Purpose:	Design, implement and administer all ISP systems
infrastructure, including all hardware and software platforms, operating
systems and applications used to provide Internet Services to existing NTC
customer base. This includes DNS, Web Hosting, Email, Database servers, and
systems monitoring and provisioning tools and reports. 


Summary:	  

Primary Duties and Qualifications:
.	4 Years experience in an ISP/ASP UNIX environment running Solaris
and BSD (FreeBSD and/or BSDi/Walnut Creek BSD/OS.) 
.	In depth understanding of Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003 operating
systems platform and IIS web server.
.	Advanced knowledge Database configuration and administration
including Microsoft SQL 2000 and MySQL 3.23
or greater.
.	Expertise in hardware support and repair of x86 and SPARC based
platforms preferred.
.	In depth understanding of Email systems (POP3, IMAP, SMTP)
functionality and various storage methods  
.	Strong understanding of Web Hosting environments based on both
Apache and Microsoft IIS
.	Experience administrating ISC BIND servers version 8 and above
.	Working knowledge of LDAP (openldap, iPlanet Directory)
implementations a benefit.
.	Must be comfortable with shell and PERL and PHP scripting and
programming languages
.	Possess a strong knowledge of System Administration fundamentals
.	Fundamentals of systems and network security
.	Must have advanced knowledge of IP networking and layer 3 routing
technologies.
.	Experience using performance monitoring and capacity planning tools
.	Performance tuning: paging and swapping, inter-process
communication, file systems.
.	Working knowledge of networking/distributed computing environments
.	Working knowledge of DNS.



Additional Responsibilities:	
.	Other responsibilities include risk management, scheduling and cost
control, and identifying and resolving issues with appropriate tracking and
closure processes.
.	Work and complete any project assigned by management.
.	Identifying and resolving any systems or process deficiencies within
given responsibility areas.
