This breaks keyboard input under X11 on my system, an IBM/Lenovo
Thinkpad X60s.

Almost none of the "special" keys work with 1.0, including the Danish
letters '=E6', '=F8' and '=E5' and the so-called "Windows" keys. The all
work with xkeyboard-config-0.9_3.

Here is my InputDevice section from /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Keyboard"
        Driver "kbd"

        # the microsoftinet model has support for the
        # forward/backward buttons
        Option "XkbModel" "microsoftinet"

        # allow switching between nodeadkeys/deadkeys keymaps
        Option "XkbLayout" "dk,dk"
        Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys,"
        Option "XkbOptions" "grp:caps_toggle,grp_led:caps"
EndSection
