I thought the same about the backout of Trevor's USE_LINUX removal too, but
portmgr insisted on it. And AFAIR I had to fix some bugs then (I'm sure they
where there before, but...).

I don't have the time before the freeze to take care of this too, so as I
already told, I don't intend to do this before the release, but I don't mind
if someone else teams up with portmgr.
