I get mouse "creep" sometimes.  Microsoft Intellimouse, Intel D815EEA
mobo, XF86 4.2.0 (but I also used to see it on 3.3.6), -STABLE (from
some time in April).  Cured by flinging the mouse around a bit, or
switching to/from a VT as you say.  Sometimes associated with
performance dips in whatever I'm doing.  I assume it's something wrong
with interrupts.
