I don't think it should be updated.  If you did so, you could then
argue that all sorts of things that are more up-to-date on the CPAN
should be merged back as well.  This is a dangerous path to tread.
Having perl 5.005_03 on the system should imply just that -- nothing
more and nothing less and nothing substantially different.
