That is, when you type: $ host 12.34.56.78 (where you use your IP address, of course) you get: Host not found, try again. If this is what's happening, then it really is your ISP who is messed up, and there's nothing you can do but complain to them. You could try to find out who supplies their network access and complain to them, but I'd be very surprised if you got any response. The solution is very simple - your ISP has to just add some entries to a file and send their name server a HUP signal. It should take them about 10 minutes, probably, including the time it takes to walk down the hall and get a soda from the machine. This is a really dumb thing for an ISP to screw up. For them to tell you nothing is wrong is even more dumb. It sounds like they don't have a clue what they're doing. If there's any competitor, I would recommend you switch.
