I always found vpnd easy to use (in FreeBSD ports: security/vpnd).

There is a small howto (quite Linux focused, but may still be of use) on:
http://www.zelow.no/floppyfw/download/HOWTOS/VPND-HOWTO.txt.

There is some documentation with the port. Particularly read the README.
