>Environment:
Compaq Evo D500, Pentium 4, 1.7 GHz
>Description:
After installing FreeBSD (using the Install Disk 4.4 and 4.5, or the floppies for 4.6), the system cannot boot: the loader stops with a "BTX halted" message and seems to dump the registers.
The system has been installed on the first partition, on a 4GB slices (<1023 cylinders). I have used the FreeBSD boot loder and GRUB to boot the system, without success. I am only able to boot the Install Disc.
For information, I have already installed FreeBSD 4.4 and 4.5 on 2 different machines, without any trouble.
