Tom,

Thank you very much.  I feel like an idiot, for not having contemplated the
possibility of the problem being the driver for the sis6326.  After erasing
everything that might have anything to do with X11 or Window managers or
libraries, I decided as a last resort to substitute the SiS-6326 that worked
flawlessly on 3.3.4.  I changed it for a Matrox G200 and ran xf86config and
it worked perfectly with no other changes and everything else the same.
Looks like the SiS-6326 has a strange problem with XFree86-3.3.5.  Iīll try
some Options, in the XF86Config file tomorrow and then report it to
XFree86.org.  Does anyone else have one of these running with 3.3.5?
