edit the /usr/local/etc/upsd.conf file using your favorite editor and about
a page down you'll see things like

on "line-fail" after 60 {
--
That 60 is an indicator of the time before said action is taken. In this
case, after 60 seconds of a condition of having no AC power, the system will
execute a shutdown. Right above this, you will see entries for the warning
that comes prior. You'll want to adjust it accordingly I can assume.
