Dear Maintainer, I have come across a compile problem with the makedepend port, and its failure output has instructed me to send various outputs and information your way. If you need me to notify someone else, please let me know. I am working with a portsnap from Saturday July 28. I have run make clean before all compilation attempts and have also done a deinstall/reinstall on xproto. As far as I know I'm working from a default FreeBSD/ppc install, so if anything here appears non- standard, I don't know why it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :-) - Jeff ++++ Failure Message ++++ ... checking for X... gnome-config: not found configure: error: Package requirements (xproto) were not met. Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively you may set the X_CFLAGS and X_LIBS environment variables to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. ===> Script "configure" failed unexpextedly. Please report the problem to x11@FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and attach the "/usr/ports/ devel/makedepend/work/makedepend-1.0.1/config.log" including the output of the failure of your make command. Also, it might be a good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on your system (e.g. an 'ls /var/db/pkg'). *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/devel/makedepend ++++ Output of ls /var/db/pkg ++++ csup-20060318 gettext-0.16.1_3 gmake-3.81_2 libiconv-1.9.2_2 libtool-1.5.22_4 pkg-config-0.22 pkg_install-20060113 xproto-7.0.10 ++++ Makedepend Config Log ++++ This file contains any messages produced by compilers while running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.
