I have followed all the steps including rebuilding sys/i386/boot/biosboot to force using the serial console at boot and installed the new boot to the drive. I can now boot and have the boot: prompt go to the console and more or less have all the functionality of the serial console with the exception of getting a getty to run on the serial console. Going through the archives mentions /dev/tty00. I have tried to duplicate the /etc/ttys setup for /dev/tty00 and then tried to create it in /dev with no luck. MAKEDEV doesn't seem to know how to make tty00. What am I doing wrong? How should I have /etc/ttys setup to get a login prompt on the serial console after the system has booted? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jeff
