I didn't understand the manpage correctly indeed.  It was not clear
enough for me.

Yes same thing with this command.  I thought that ATA mkIII resolved
all problems according to the mailing-lists.  This time I decided to
to do a little bit more than using my hard drive, and this fails,
that's unfortunate.
