I'd hold out longer.  Like til the new named.conf format is
widely used.  Basic chicken/egg problem here.

Exactly.  It's going to break scripts for those who don't update DNS
manually and will break DNS for *everyone* who upgrades an existing
system.

Same here.  I like it.  But I sure wouldn't want it sprung on me
by surprise.
