C'mon.

Did nivit approve you commit explicitly ? If yes, an 'Approved by; nivit'
should be in the commit log.
If not, did he gave you a blanket approval to commit to his port ? Then
alexbl is right.
Else you shouldn't have commited.

We just had "commits w/o maintainer approval" discussion on ports@
