    You can try two things.  First, try this:

	update the file as index.html.new
	mv index.html.new index.html

    If that doesn't work then you may have to do it non-atomically and keep
    the last file around so any open file descriptors and mmap()ings on the
    client remain valid.

	update the file as index.html.new
	mv index.html index.html.old
	mv index.html.new index.html
