Hello

The "GNU tar" included with FreeBSD 2.2-stable is version 1.11.3
Current-people: Is your version of "GNU tar" the same as above ?

I usually make complete backups with tar. But this version of tar isn't
able
to backup /dev properly. I got some errors like "unknown filetypes".
It worked fine in 2.2.5, but in 2.2.6 something in /dev has changed.

After I had reinstalled GNU tar version 1.12 myself, all worked with no
problems.

Could the one who's responsible for the gnu -section, update the version

for 2.2.7 and in the CVS-repository ?

And second question : Is it possible to include less as a more advanced
pager not only in the ports section ?

Thanks a lot for an answer ;)

Martin
