  Yes, just make sure you always mount things in the right order.  BTW,
this works the same on all Unix systems.

  Ouch.  9GB drives are kinda big for news.  Generally hurts how many
transactions you can process per second.  9GB are passable for
alt.binaries, but I find them useless for everything else.  Hopefull, this
will only be a lightly used system, or only take a partial feed.

  There is a DPT drive available as patch.  The author has made it
available as part of another project.  I find it works well (I use a DPT
PM334).  See SCSI archives.
