Hi Andres, > Its a bug in 5.0 that only bites SMP kernels (GENERIC is SMP on > alpha). This was just fixed Sat. in -currrent. See the freebsd-alpha > archives for the patch. Or rebuild a kernel without 'options SMP', or > upgrade to -current. All is working now. Thanks for the tip. matlab 5 is now running fine, including GUI. Now to get mathematica running... Paul.
