Instead of saying "I want this", how about providing reasons WHY?  What
purpose would such notification serve?  It doesn't give you any kind of
information about content changes.  All it does is change the repository
to make managing files easier; nothing more.

Please, nobody turn it on until one of those who want it come up with
something besides pure desire.  Thanks.
