In order to track down a SIG11 fault I was having with ImageMagick's "convert" & large photo_cd files on 2.2.2, I backed up everything and did a clean install of 2.2.1. While I was at it, I restored the X33-src files, and built XFree86-33 (free of any of the authors patches) on the 2.2.1 system. So far the XF86_SVGA 'no second restart' problem has not occured.
